If youÆre designing pictures in GIF or PNG format for use on Web sites, itÆs best to select colors from a browser-safe palette as you create your picture. By using the 216 colors common to most Web browsers and computer systems, you can ensure that your pictures look good in more than one display context.
On the workspace or in the picture list, select an object.
If you don't see the color box or color list, you may need to scroll down in the workpane.
Click the arrow to the right of the color box or color list.
Click More Colors, and then click the Custom Palette tab.
In the Color palette list, do one of the following:
If you're working with photographs or other types of pictures that contain subtle gradations of colors, click Web (Dithered).
If you're working with line art or pictures with large areas of solid color, click Web (Solid). This palette uses the same 216 colors as Web (Dithered) but does not allow the colors in a picture to dither.
In the color palette, click the color you want to use.
